Who we are — data controller

ConvertHub (convert-hub.net) provides free unit converters and PDF/Word conversion tools and acts as the data controller for personal data processed through this site. For any privacy question, correction, access, or deletion request, contact us at contact@convert-hub.net or via our contact page. This policy covers convert-hub.net only; it does not cover third-party sites linked from our pages.

Unit converters — no server data

Calculations on /convert/* pages run entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. The numbers you type are never transmitted to our servers, logged, or stored by us — there is nothing for us to receive, because the math happens on your device. Standard web server logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user agent) may still be generated by our hosting infrastructure for security and abuse prevention, as is normal for any website, but these are not linked to the values you calculate.

PDF & Word file tools

When you use Word to PDF or PDF to Word on /tools/*, your file is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to our conversion server, processed in isolated temporary storage using LibreOffice or pdf2docx, and deleted immediately once your converted file begins downloading. We do not store uploaded files beyond the time needed to convert and deliver them, we do not review or read file contents for any purpose other than performing the conversion, we do not share or sell uploaded files with third parties, and we do not use uploaded files to train any machine learning model. If a conversion fails, the failed upload is also deleted rather than retained for debugging beyond what is strictly necessary to return an error to you.

Cookies we use

This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies, which fall into three categories:

• Strictly necessary cookies — used for basic site functionality, such as remembering that you have already responded to our cookie notice. These do not require consent under most privacy laws because the site cannot function as intended without them.
• Analytics cookies (Umami) — we use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to see aggregate metrics like page views and popular converters. Umami is configured to avoid collecting personally identifiable information and does not build cross-site advertising profiles.
• Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) — described in detail below.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertising that helps keep ConvertHub free. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick/Google Ads cookie) to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet, and to measure ad performance. We do not control the specific ads shown or the data Google collects for ad personalization; that is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising generally at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU). You can also configure most browsers to block third-party cookies entirely, though this may affect ad relevance rather than site functionality.

Analytics in more detail

Umami analytics counts page views and referrers in aggregate so we know which converters and guides are useful and where to invest editorial effort. Umami does not use cookies for cross-site tracking, does not sell data, and does not build individual advertising profiles from this analytics data. We do not combine Umami data with AdSense identifiers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing — including rights under the EU/UK GDPR and similar regional laws. Because unit conversions never leave your browser and uploaded files are deleted immediately after conversion, the personal data we hold is limited primarily to aggregate analytics events and whatever advertising cookie data Google's systems retain independently. To exercise a rights request (for example, asking what analytics data is tied to your visits, or asking us to confirm deletion), email contact@convert-hub.net with the approximate date and page you visited. Advertising-specific opt-outs are usually resolved faster directly through the Google Ads Settings link above, since that data is controlled by Google, not by us.

Children's privacy

ConvertHub is a general-audience utility site not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

ConvertHub is accessible worldwide. Our conversion server and hosting infrastructure may process data in countries other than your own; by using the site you understand that your data (including any file you upload for conversion) may be processed outside your country of residence, subject to the retention and deletion practices described above. Where local law requires a specific legal basis or additional safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the security measures described here (HTTPS in transit, immediate deletion after conversion) as our primary safeguard given how little data is retained in the first place.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our tools, analytics, or advertising setup changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
